Hypertension, also known as high blood pressure, is often called the “silent killer.” Why? Because it usually comes with no warning signs, yet it can quietly damage your heart, kidneys, and brain over time.
The good news is this: you can manage and even prevent hypertension with the right lifestyle changes and support.
At Lady Adaure Outreach Foundation, we are committed to helping you live a healthier life, one step at a time.
What is Hypertension?
Blood pressure is the force of blood pushing against your artery walls. When this pressure is consistently too high, it becomes a serious health risk.
Normal BP: Less than 120/80
High BP (Hypertension): 130/80 and above
Common Risk Factors:
● Poor diet (too much salt, oil, and processed foods)
● Lack of physical activity
● Stress and anxiety
● Family history
● Smoking and alcohol
● Obesity
6 Simple Tips to Control Your Blood Pressure:
1. Check Your BP Regularly
You can’t manage what you don’t measure. Visit your local clinic or join our free BP checks at health fairs.
2. Reduce Salt and Processed Foods
Too much salt increases pressure in your arteries. Aim for natural seasonings and fresh ingredients.
3. Stay Active
A 30-minute walk a few times a week, dancing, or even stretching can make a big difference.
4. Eat for Your Heart
Choose leafy greens, beans, fish, fruits, and whole grains. Cut back on fried, fatty, and sugary foods.
